This powerful home steam vacuum saves you the expense and hassle of having to rent a steam cleaner to keep rugs, upholstery, and bare floors (other than hardwoods) looking like new. The powerful 12-amp motor combined with five spinning brushes that operate at either high or low speed lift the dirt and grime out of carpets. When cleaning is complete, release the trigger and the SteamVac forces hot air into the cleaning path so you can do a few dry strokes over the stain. This deep cleaner has two separate water tanks to keep clean water apart from dirty water. The top tank holds the detergent and one gallon of hot water and automatically mixes the two so you don’t need to get your hands wet. The lower tank holds the dirty solution picked up from the carpet and unlatches to easily pour out into a sink without spilling. For cleaning stairs or upholstery, this deep cleaner has a long 8-foot hose and a special stair/upholstery nozzle to scrub out spots. Other features of this deep cleaner include a brush indicator, which informs you that the brushes are spinning; an on/off foot pedal; a handle release pedal; and a 27-inch wraparound cord. Very good machine, if your new machine LEAK, see note 2 below. I'm just amazed at how many people write that their machine was leaking one day, and they returned to him. It will leak if you go a crucial step for one time set-up. Paid $ 170 at Best Buy. This is my first carpet cleaner so I have nothing to compare with my own expectations, except. Although the name is SteamVac, like all others in this class of cleaning products, there is no steam on. That's just false marketing, but all manufacturers do it, so no special knock on Hoover. Let me first say that I am ashamed to admit that our carpet was not cleaned in four years, and we live in the country where much dirt is kept out. So it was pretty darn dirty carpet. The Hoover F5914-900 has a very good job the first time I used - a noticeable difference in the appearance of the carpet dramatically. The water reservoir of dirty water was black. Will he back the carpet to new condition? No, impossible. It took another treatment or two to get really clean? Yes, that's the price we pay for ignoring wet cleaning of the carpet for years one of the best features of this cleaner is the ability to dry the carpet very well. Since the front of the machine is made of clear plastic, you can see when you draw water. If you want to dry the carpet as much as possible, keep sucking until you see more water being pulled up. As time has passed, the SteamVac done an excellent job keeping my carpets. My gripe is that the container of dirty water fills up too quickly and should be a bit "bigger. Ideally, the receptacle of dirty water" should "be in his own right, as you run out of clean water. Then turn off, empty the dirty water, filling water and back to work. But this process is out-of-sync with the grip of dirty water, fill up before you run out of clean water. So this may be a little 'uncomfortable, but not a show-stopper. The machine is well built, but it is plastic, with lots of compartments and the bolts and hose holders, etc, so you just have to be careful about these things, or probably break some other notes: 1. If you're not the type to read manuals, read it. Installation and operation are easy if you sit down and read the manual before you start. It's not like a vacuum cleaner where you just plug and go. 2. My car loses badly, but it was my fault. Is there a procedure for installing a moment to pull the trigger and press the Clean button to block surge on a stick. Press the Clean-Surge firmness. There may be a high snap that sounds like you broke something, but it is not. To obtain this pressure, cleaning surge against (which frees up more clean water solution) is all the time, so the loss. I do not press hard enough at first, so I had the problem of leakage. EDIT December 2007 apparently many people assume that without a loud snap, the Clean Surge not all important that the machine does not leak. If your SteamVac not leaking, it is properly installed and Clean Surge will work! The only reason I pointed out the "snap" because so many people had problems with leakage, which are easily soluble. And it is possible that Hoover, the design after getting so many returns from people who do not read the instructions in the manual changed. So do not get hung up in a jiffy. If your machine does not leak after installation, you'll know what to do. 3rd Sometimes it seems that no ventilation, the problem is that there is something wrong. It is easy to snap the lid on the dirty water container without lining up, creating a vacuum leak. If a vacuum leak, no suction at the bottom of the machine, where it is necessary to enjoy the water from the carpet. You can see that the brushes will not turn, because they are operated by vacuum So again, cover the dirty water. Carefully insert the hinges on it.
